Crude oil futures closed sharply lower in the domestic market on Thursday as participants trimmed positions amid weak global cues. The trading sentiment was also dented due to profit booking and decline in crude price in overseas market.

At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2018 contract closed at Rs 5252 per barrel, down 3.70 per cent, after opening at Rs 5401, against a previous close of Rs 5454. During the day’s trade, it touched an intra-day high of Rs 5401 and low of Rs 5250 respectively.
