Mentha oil futures dip as speculators cut position

Mentha oil futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants indulged in trimming their bets amid falling demand from consuming industries at the spot markets.

The fall in mentha oil prices was mostly attributed to cutting down of bets by speculators, triggered by a weak demand from consuming industries at the physical markets, marketmen said.

At the MCX mentha oil futures for November 2018 contract was trading at Rs 1637.00 per kg down by 1.13 per cent after opening at Rs 1620.00 against the previous closing price of Rs 1655.70. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1589.5 (at 13:45 hours).
