Mentha oil futures fall as speculators cut position

Mentha oil futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants indulged in trimming their bets amid falling demand from consuming industries at the spot markets.

The fall in mentha oil prices was mostly attributed to cutting down of bets by speculators, triggered by a weak demand from consuming industries at the physical markets, marketmen said.

At the MCX mentha oil futures for December 2018 contract was trading at Rs 1688.20 per kg down by 0.59 per cent after opening at Rs 1694.80 against the previous closing price of Rs 1698.20. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1680.20 (at 13:00 hours).
