Mentha oil futures were trading higher during late morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday after participants raised bets amid rise in demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Marketmen said raising of bets by speculators, driven by surging demand from consuming industries at the spot market against restricted supplies from Chandausi, led to the rise in mentha oil prices in futures trade.

At the MCX mentha oil futures for December 2018 contract was trading at Rs 1710.00 per kg up by 0.62 per cent after opening at Rs 1709.20 against the previous closing price of Rs 1699.50. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1715.00 (at 11:40 hours).
